Rich said: "I came to the tasters because it looked fun, ultimately. The pictures on Facebook and the website all looked like they were having a great time! The sessions were very welcoming and gave us a good idea of what to expect, easing us in with a nice and simple dance. The side is really friendly."
Men and women are welcome and there's home made cake, tea/coffee and chat at half time.
Musicians able to play fiddle, melodeon, concertina, accordion or recorder are welcome to join the merry band for the taster sessions. Tunes are usually in the keys of G and D. The band aims to play from memory by the end of the practice season.

Local Support
Working together to support Hurst

In Hurst we are very lucky to have an amazing network of over 60 volunteers available to offer help should you need it for shopping, collecting medications or just someone to have a chat with during these difficult times.

If you would like to speak to us, or want to ask for help for yourself or a neighbour, please view the list of helpers and we’ll see how we can help.

You can easily find volunteers in your area - just select your road or click on a map.

Some volunteers have offered to have a chat on the phone, some have offered to collect any medication and some to shop. If the volunteer cannot help directly, they can contact another volunteer for you.

Even if you’re self-isolating, you’re not alone.
