Local Authors' Book Launch

Their book is about the first anti-shipping Beaufighter Strike Wing
that waged a two-year campaign against German shipping convoys carrying their war material to the Ruhr factories.
John's father flew as a Navigator on one of the Wing's Squadrons,
and the book draws on his personal papers and photographs,
as well as the mass of records in the National Archives and other historical research.
The Cricket Club bar will be open.

They raise money for charities by playing concerts in people’s front rooms, back gardens, kitchens,
village halls, churches, islands, boats, shop fronts, service stations, lighthouses and vineyards

COVID-19 Support
Working together to support Hurst
In Hurst we are very lucky to have an amazing network of over
60 volunteers
available to offer help should you need it for shopping, collecting
medications or just someone to have a chat with during these difficult times.
If you would like to speak to us, or want to ask for help for yourself or a neighbour,
please view the
list of helpers
and we’ll see how we can help.
You can easily find volunteers in your area -
just select your road
or
click on a map.
Some volunteers have offered to have a chat on the phone,
some have offered to collect any medication and some to shop.
If the volunteer cannot help directly,
they can contact another volunteer for you.
Even if you’re self-isolating, you’re not alone.
