Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society "Virtual 2020"
The Hurst Horticultural & Cottage Garden Society's committee has reluctantly conceded
that it is not possible to meet the government's required distancing rules
at this year's August show so it, sadly, will no longer take place.
However, the Society is planning to stage an online show called
"
Virtual 2020"
consisting of nine online classes, including two for children.
The deadline for entries is
noon on 22nd August.
Details are on the Society's
website
under the
Virtual 2020 tab.
It is based on taking two photographs of each entry,
and will operate in a way similar to the recently successful Gardens 2020 competition.

COVID-19 Support
Working together to support Hurst
In addition to support being provided by
Wokingham Borough Council,
working with various charities around the borough,
Hurst has over
60 volunteers
available to offer help should you need it for shopping, collecting
medications or just someone to have a chat with during these difficult times.
If you would like to speak to us, or want to ask for help,
please view the
list of helpers
and we'll see how we can help.
You can easily find volunteers in your area -
just select your road
or
click on a map.
Some volunteers have offered to have a chat on the phone,
some have offered to collect any medication and some to shop.
If the volunteer cannot help, they can contact another volunteer for you.
Even if you’re self-isolating, you're not alone.
